No cable, no app — Apple Books can import an EPUB straight from your Downloads.

On iPhone or iPad
Open the Files app, find the EPUB in Downloads, tap it, then tap the Share icon and choose Books. (If you don't see it in the share sheet, tap More to find it.)

On a Mac
Just double-click the downloaded EPUB — it opens directly in the Books app and adds itself to your library. You can also drag the file straight into the Books window.
Heads up: if your browser saved the file inside a zip, unzip it
first — Apple Books needs the .epub file itself, not a folder.

The book is in your Apple Books library and will sync via iCloud to your other Apple devices.
